BGHR Writes Response to the EU Commission to Address Misleading Claims in Ethanol Industry’s Letter
In response to the recent letter sent to President von der Leyen by the ethanol industry, we at BGHR (Branschgruppen för Hygien och Rengöring) feel it is imperative to address the inaccuracies and concerns raised within the document. The claims made do not fully reflect the environmental, health, and safety risks associated with the use of ethanol, particularly in the context of biocides.
Instead of continuing down a path that ignores the inherent dangers of ethanol, we strongly believe that a more sustainable and safer approach must be adopted. Ethanol, despite its widespread use, is not without its risks. It is crucial that the EU considers alternatives that reduce the impact on both human health and the environment.
We are committed to supporting the transition towards safer, more sustainable biocidal alternatives that align with the EU’s goals for both public safety and environmental responsibility. Ignoring the hazards associated with ethanol will only delay the shift to more effective and environmentally-friendly solutions.
We are dedicated to advocating for the necessary changes and ensuring that the future of biocides reflects innovation and sustainability.
